Really excellent house tutorial. Very details with basement, interior, living room, fireplace, kitchen, bathroom, foyer. Can learn many excellent techniques doing this.
This is what we are going to build. A nice single bedroom home with a living room, dining room, kitchen with a big glass skylight (Daylight kitchen), one bath, a front porch, back deck and fireplaces downstairs and upstairs sharing the same chimney and a full basement that is five blocks high. This home is 23 blocks wide and about 35 deep counting the deck and porch. I am building this in survival using materials that can be fairly easily obtained. By far, the most expensive item used is the netherbrick roof. No worldedit or creative mode will be used in this build. For this house, I have selected white clay, brick front, black clay with stone slab inset trim and a netherbrick roof. I already have all of the materials in stock at my own house. I am using the Faithful32 texture pack here. Let’s go!
This is your house right now. A nice, cozy dirt block. You even have some windows for decoration! However, you’re looking to improve, so you look up a building tutorial.
When most people start to think about what to build, they often come up with a huge, dramatic idea. It might be a castle or huge fortress, and then they quickly get overwhelmed. They think they need to see the design in their head start-to-finish or know exactly what they need to do. I used to do that all the time!
The problem is, people think “bigger is better”, but in Minecraft that idea can kill all the fun. Don’t get me wrong: it can be fun to make a large structure. But you don’t want to come up with an idea so huge that you aren’t able to finish it, or to even get started!
I want to make sure you are never again short on awesome, fun ideas for things to build in Minecraft! I guarantee you’ll have more than enough ideas by the time you finish reading this article! Don’t even worry about reading the whole thing. If you find something you like, just go with it and strike while the iron’s hot!
One of the easiest ways to come up with ideas of things to build in Survival mode is to go by your current needs.
